FAQs
What is St. Lillian Academy Giving Day (SLA Giving Day)?
SLA Giving Day is St. Lillian Academy’s 24-hour giving campaign and the official launch of the St. Lillian Academy Annual Fund for each year. This day of giving inspires all supporters of St. Lillian Academy from families, to friends, to the local community and region to come together and provide essential funding for our school. On Giving Day, our families, friends and community come together to help us reach our $50,000 goal in just one day! Every contribution directly impacts us, providing the resources that fuel our mission—supporting teachers, empowering students and strengthening programs at St. Lillian Academy. Your giving allow us to expand programming, offer scholarship support, and provide exemplary staff for our students.
What does a gift support?
This work is only possible because of supporters like you. But each year, the true cost of a St. Lillian education exceeds what we receive in tuition. When you give to the St. Lillian Annual Fund, you help fill the gap between what’s needed and what’s possible. You are making a direct investment in the future of children who deserve every opportunity to succeed.
That’s why we’re asking for support by making a gift to our Annual Fund today through SLA Giving Day on October 16th, 2025.
When you support St. Lillian Academy, you help provide:
Scholarships
Professional Development & Training for Our Teachers
Expanded Programming
Technology & Specialized Learning Tools
Enrichment Opportunities
Sustainability of our school for generations to come!
…and so much more!!
What is St. Lillian Academy?
St. Lillian Academy is a nonprofit, K-12 school for children with communication and learning challenges. Serving kids ages 5-21, our students have diagnoses such as Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, sensory processing disorder, apraxia, speech/language delay, chromosomal abnormalities, developmental delay, and more.
Founded on the belief that all are created equated, St. Lillian integrates the entire child development plan, seamlessly creating an environment that individualizes and maximizes achievement. Every child receives the best opportunity for success in the classroom, with positive peer interaction and ultimately, a productive and interactive life.
We have a wrap-around method of teaching in an integrated, holistic environment that involves teachers providing special education services, in-house therapists (OT/PT, and Speech), and behavioral specialists providing intervention for skills acquisition.
Together, our students are equipped and empowered to become active members of our community.
Why Support St. Lillian Academy?
We aim to serve as many families as possible.
The current cost of our education can be prohibitive to most families. Due to the specialization of our instruction and support services, the actual cost of one student’s education is $20,000-$22,000 and is not fully covered by tuition fees. We work hard to maintain our operating costs as low as possible. Each year St. Lillian Academy provides financial aid to families who otherwise cannot afford to access our school if it were not for scholarship support. More than 80% of our students receive some form of financial aid from multiple sources. 20% of our families receive support directly as waived fees and tuition assistance. With Teacher:Student ratios of 6:1, we cannot cut costs on instruction staff. In order to keep our doors open, we aim to raise approximately $600,000+ from individual donors, grant resources, and public funds.
